ok---the last post is totally obselete. i got a job! i got a job! i got a job! not all jobs are crappy and stupid. mine isn't. yay for me! i got a real grown-up people job with benefits and stuff. pretty soon i'll have a corner office. pretty soon i'll be able to buy and sell all ya'll. watch out. i'm a good little capitalist. i'm living the american dream. i AM the american dream. whoooohooooooo!
i have too much to tell all you glorious people---i wish you could come over for a cuppa. basically i got a temp job with a translation company and it was the first job i've actually liked since i've been in california (almost a year incidentally...). the people i work with are rad--two french ladies, one polish dude, two peruvians, one chinese, one korean. two have their phDs and all are super nice and speak at least two languages. there are world maps on the wall and people laugh a lot. such a change from the previous home loan nightmare! but they apparantly like me too so they offered me a postition. i will be doing something called "interpreter relations"
which consists of relating with interpreters. i think. i won't go into all the boring details now. but i will be making money. and i will give it all to visa.
i am so excited to be part of a job that i can actually feel good about---no more pushing pointless numbers around on a screen or selling clothes made in china. yay! there is a lot more i want to tell you---about bill and nick's matching linen trousers, about tall ships and nature documentaries---but that will wait for another post because i have to go now and do a happy little "i got a job" jig. whoopeeeeee.
